I always try and spend my Friday afternoons working on new ideas and projects, focusing on creating, not just producing. Making something new is a great way to end the week.
Join me and make your own custom Kentile or Stovetop cutting board over two Friday evenings. Scroll down to the bottom to sign up!
Since March 2012, we've made over 175 cutting boards in the class!
You can monogram it (or not), add more stripes, do neat things with the grain patterns, or tweak the dimensions a bit. Make something you want to live with. In this class we'll also have some other wood options, so you can really personalize your board and make it a unique piece. (...can also make something to give as a gift - have any weddings coming up?)
You'll also learn more than you ever thought possible about cutting boards.
In the first class we'll talk about types of cutting boards, maintenance, and the techniques we use to make all of ours. Shop safety will also be covered in depth. We'll then arrange and glue up our boards. In the the second class, we'll sand the boards, add the hand holds, and apply the oil and beeswax finish.
It's a great way to round out the week, and also fun because we'll have some wine and some of my favorite local beer and snacks.
The best part is, when you're done, you'll have an awesome cutting board you made yourself, and will have learned some basic woodworking skills.
The class is $175, and is limited to just a handful of people making cutting boards, but you can bring a friend or significant other if you like to help with yours - and have some snacks. (This includes all of the materials for a standard 16" x 13" x 1 1/4" cutting board - if you have something else in mind - or any other questions - send me an email to me at email@example.com and we can discuss.)
Pretty sweet deal.
Even sweeter, sign up with a friend who'll make one too, and save $50 ($300 rather than $350 to make two cutting boards).
Gift Certificates also available - shipped with a Lime Board to give as a gift now, and then they can take the class later - when they know when they want to attend, they can shoot us an email to schedule.
(The attendee will only receive something in the mail if you purchase the gift certificate with the lime board - if you sign up for a specific class date for yourself or for someone else, there's no physical product and the recipient won't receive anything additional, just the email.)
If the class you want is full, get on the waiting list - things do change... Send an email and we'll let you know if a spot opens up.
Dates: February 20th & 27th
Place: Makeville Studio - 119 8th Street (btw 2nd & 3rd Aves), Unit 208
Dates don't work for you? Send an email to Pete (firstname.lastname@example.org) and he'll be sure to keep you in the loop about upcoming classes, or sign up for our newsletter on the home page. If you get a group together, we can arrange for a private session - wouldn't that be fun? Could also do it as a corporate team building thing...
